What is the CPT (billing code) for the accuDEXA?
77081. If one doctor is performing the procedure and another
is interpreting the results, the service should include
a modifier as 77081-TC and 77081-26 respectively.
Are there any other accuDEXA billing codes (besides 76076)
that we provide info on, specifically 76075?
76075 is the CPT code for CENTRAL DXA. The only appropriate
CPT code for peripheral DXA (the accuDEXA) is 76076. In
2007 the CPT code for peripheral DXA was changed to 77081.
I am in the process of registering my accuDEXA with the
state radiation board and require some help.
The information necessary for registration is provided on
page C of the User Manual. For convenience, this information
is repeated below.
Maximum kVp: 70 kVp
Maximum X-ray current: 10 ma
Part number: B7100
Serial number: Check the label near the fan
on the back of your unit
Scatter radiation: 6.1 mR/h at 1 meter distance
Absorbed dose (Effective radiation): 3E-4 uSv
per scan
X-ray Head number: Check the label near the
electrical inlet on the back of your unit
